🏳️‍🌈 Why We Care: Utah’s Pride Flag Ban and the Collection That Fights Back

On May 7, 2025, Utah will become the first state in the U.S. to ban LGBTQ+ pride flags from schools and government buildings. The law claims it’s about “neutrality.” We know it’s about erasure.

At Self Loathe Club, we’re not here to play neutral.

So we made a statement — on a shirt, and on a hoodie.

Both featuring the new Utah state flag, reimagined in full Pride colors.

Mountains, canyon, beehive — still there. With a message that can’t be ignored.

Soft enough to live in. Loud enough to protest in.

Where Your Money Goes

This isn’t just merch. It’s mutual aid in motion.

35% of every sale — hoodie or shirt — is donated:

  • 25% is split between:

    • Encircle – builds safe homes and offers therapy, support, and community for LGBTQ+ youth and families across Utah

    • Equality Utah – fights for LGBTQ+ rights in the Utah Legislature and courts, pushing back through policy and education

  • 10% store-wide is always donated to:

    • NAMI and Mental Health America, because mental health care is survival, and support systems matter.

All donations are tracked transparently. No corporate fluff. Just real impact.

Why Self Loathe Club Gives a Damn

We started this brand for people who’ve been told to tone it down — the misfits, the anxious, the ones who feel too much and don’t fit the mold.

Now a state is trying to erase queer visibility.

So we’re making it even more visible.

They banned the flag.

So we put it on your chest.

Want to Help?

Grab a shirt. Grab a hoodie.

Tell your friends. Wear it loud.

Because the more they try to silence us, the louder we get.
